Founded in 1870, the Rhode Island SPCA is the first humane organization in Rhode Island and is the 3rd oldest humane organization in the United States. We are the only non-profit animal walfare organization in the state of Rhode Island that is legally able to investigate and prosecute animal cruelty cases. The Rhode Island SPCA is charged with the sole purpose of protecting animal life in all situations that might endanger them.

The Rhode Island SPCA is dedicated to crusading for the rights and welfare of all animals, great and small, through legal, educational, legislative and investigative means.

Along with operating a full shelter that is cares for over 100 cats, dogs and other domestic animals each day, community involvement is also a part of our mission. We offer medical attention for the pets of many impoverished, disabled and elderly individuals who otherwise could not afford to care for them through the Marvin Fund.

At Subaru we believe in being More Than a Car Company and one way that we demonstrate this is through our commitment to the health and welfare of pets. We believe that all pets deserve a loving home, and through our Love Promise, we're proud to have donated $28 million to support the health, rescue, transport and adoption for more than 230,000 animals.
During the month of October, the Subaru Loves Pets initiative showcases this commitment to pets through adoption events, pet supply drives and volunteer activations that make a difference in local animal shelters.  Along with participating retailers, Subaru will collectively sponsor nationwide efforts to help shelter animals find loving homes - with a special emphasis on shelter dogs with special needs.  This year we once again shine the spotlight on the hardest-to-adopt shelter dogs, the older and physically challenged Underdogs who deserve to finally find loving homes. Subaru and its retailers will be donating $100 for every pet adopted this month to local partner shelters across the country*.
Anchor Subaru is partnering again this year with the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
